Country house Le Caselle

Le Caselle country house, with its peaceful environment, is situated in the middle of green olive groves close to the historic town of Viterbo, with a wonderful view over the surrounding countryside.

Vista esterna

The building, dating from the 13th century, was originally used by the Dominican friars from the nearby church of Santa Maria della Quercia who worked the land. It now belongs to the Mecarini family, who have had it carefully restored to its ancient splendour following the guidelines of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The house is less than 15 minutes’ drive from the centre of Viterbo.
There are seven comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms, a spacious dining area and a bar, as well as a large garden area in which to relax. Long walks can be taken among the olive groves and chestnut woods belonging to the property.

Le Caselle, open all the year round, serves a typical breakfast as well as an evening meal if required. The Mecarini family looks forward to welcoming you.

Le Caselle country house is the ideal base in which to spend a relaxing holiday in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Tuscia area, and visit the many interesting places in the vicinity.
Not to be missed are: Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoregio (‘the dying city’), the Orsini Castle in Soriano, the Park of Monsters in Bomarzo, the Farnese Palace in Caprarola, and the San Pellegrino medieval quarter in Viterbo. End the day with a relaxing bathe in the thermal baths ‘Terme dei Papi’ (‘the water of the popes’), where special rates are available for Le Caselle customers.

La natura circostante

During the summer you can spend a pleasant day on Lake Bolsena with its boat trips from Capodemonte, or at the sea on the Tarquinia coast, or take a picnic to the clean fresh air of the chestnut woods on the Monti Cimini.
The famous cathedral of Orvieto and the Umbria region are just 30 minutes’ drive away. If you want to discover the past, a visit to Tuscania with its lovely early churches and traces of the Etruscan civilization is a must.
